Day 73 7/27 23mi.

We woke up with 23 miles to a small town with a store that is known for it's milkshakes! The store closes at 5, and there is also a trail angel in town who let's hikers stay at their home.

We made sure to get moving fast in the morning and didn't take many breaks throughout the day. When we got within a few miles of the road I got reception and called to verify the hours since our guide book said their hours vary and we would be cutting it close if they closed at 5. Upon calling I found out that they were having a 4 course spaghetti dinner night and therefore would also be open until 7. We were able to get down to the road by 4:30, call the trail angels who then picked us up and brought us back to their home, we both then showered really quick and walked the half mile to the store by dinner time at 5:30. We enjoyed our huge spaghetti dinners with excellent milkshakes!

Our laundry got done while we ate and we got to sleep on mattresses for the night, it doesn't get much better than that!
