Day 82 8/5 19.5mi. Trip miles 1506.5

After our long day yesterday we decided to sleep in a bit. We had planned to get to the road into town at the same time as a couple camped just behind us because they were meeting her family and said they could give us a ride into Mt. Shasta. We all moved along at a decent pace and reached the road by about 4:30 where Totems dad and brother were waiting with cold drinks, sub sandwiches, and other treats!! We hung out and ate for a bit before heading into town.

After turning on our phones we found out that the Belden fire was not contained to 200 acres and  put out like we thought. Apparently it had grown to over 6,000 acres! And the officer investigating the cause of the fire wanted to talk to use because we left the day before. I guess he's curious what we saw because it looked like the fire was human caused, I'll be sure to give him a call tomorrow morning!

We set up at the KOA in town and got showered up, laundry done, and a great meal! Also we met a couple at the campground who were excited about our trip and they had done some great backpacking as well, it was fun hearing about their adventures, they even gave us their number in case we need something when we're done with the trip since they live in Vancouver, we've met a lot of really great people out here.

If anyone has questions about a post, pictures, or the trip in general  feel free to ask in the comments (it is hard to reply to comments unless we are at a computer, but I can easily read them and will try to include a reply in future blog posts) Also I believe I made it easier to comment for anyone who doesn't have a gmail account. Thank you for everyone who has left comments so far, we really enjoy reading them!
