Day 70 7/24 16mi.
I forgot to mention yesterday that there was a hiker hanging out in town who carries a guitar with him, made out of carbon fiber so it's lightweight and waterproof. We all enjoyed live music while the power was out! He played some really good bluegrass songs and there were two other hikers there who were also pretty good on the guitar.
We had breakfast and made some phone calls until the store opened up at 10. There were about 8 thru-hikers and some locals all waiting to rush into the small store as soon as it opened, including Chatterbox and I. After picking up a box sent to us from home and resupplying we packed up had lunch and were back at the trailhead by 12:45.
We got some good treats in this package from home. Thanks Alicia for the homeade cookies and other goodies, we can't really get delicious cookies like that on the trail. Thanks uncle Steve for the great trail mix it'll be an awesome treat on this next stretch! Thanks Jennifer for the tuna and freeze-dried fruit on previous resupplies, that's perfect backpacking food. Thanks Mrs. Arnold for keeping us well hydrated through out the trip and for the cranberry trail mix in this package. And thanks to our mom for sending the packages out and all the other treats she puts in there for us!
Along the way today we met two day hikers that got a little lost on the way back down to their car so we checked out our map and pointed them in the right direction.
There was a flat area on the top of a ridge with a great view of the sunset so we decided we'd better stop for the night.

You're welcome! Keep on eating lots!
