Day 120 9/12 25mi.

We walked near the fire that we had seen smoke from the previous two days. The PCT was the boundary for the forest closure! This morning we had a 2,000 foot climb through a cloud of smoke with little bits of ash raining down on us.

After we got up and away from the fire a bit the ash stopped falling, so we found a spot to eat lunch. Soon after lunch Dr. Huss caught up with us after being behind for a few days we hiked the rest of the night with him and camped on an old jeep road just off the trail.
