Day 116 9/8 13mi.

We started the day on the alternate trail and had 9 miles to go to the town of Cascade Locks, Oregon and meet up with the main PCT. On the way down to town we passed hoards of day hikers going up to see waterfalls, and we passed about 5 great waterfalls. The last 2 miles before town were covered in blackberries, we made sure to stop and eat plenty of berries along the way.

Cascade Locks is located right on the Columbia river, which is also the Oregon/Washington border. We could see Washington! But we had to get a few town chores done before crossing the bridge into the new state. Chatterbox and I loaded up on lots of good food and ice cream as this is our last real town of the trip, all the rest of our stops will be small convenient stores and ski resort type places. The town is also our lowest elevation of the trip, only 77 feet above sea level.

On the way out of town we crossed a bridge known as "The bridge of the Gods" it was huge and there was no pedestrian walkway, but luckily the speed limit going across was only 15mph and we arrived in Washington safely.

The two of us hiked another 4 miles and set up our tents next to a small stream.
