Day 27 6/11 16mi.

The day got hot really fast. By 7:30 I was walking on a slight downhill and was already drenched in sweat. We had almost all downhill to a road crossing with a KOA only 0.2 off the trail. So we went down to the KOA and got some ice cream and powerade!! The next 10 miles only had two shady spots and it was a very hot day! We just pushed on from the KOA to the first shady spot, a small cave in a rock, and then to the next which was a tunnel under a highway. By about 4pm we made it to the town of Agua Dulce where an awesome couple takes in PCT hikers. We got to the house and grabbed some clean clothes they got from the thrift store, then showered up while they did our laundry for us!! They live a mile outside of town so they provide bicycles for hikers to take back and forth to town. We crused down to a mexican restaurant and stuffed ourselves. We came back and hung out with the other hikers here, we met 3 new hikers! We got to sleep in an air-conditioning mobile home for the night!

  2. I second that, Ms. Carly! So glad to see your smiling face and that you are exploring awesome stuff out on the trail. We miss you dearly back home, but don't worry, I'm holding the fort and keeping an eye on Carrie. She hasn't burnt herself yet!
