Day 18 6/2 10.5

We had a hard time waking up early cause the canyon we slept in got really cold last night and the canyon kept our little camp dark. Its hard to motivate yourself to get out ofba warm sleeping bag on a cold morning, but a hot breakfast is a pretty good motivator. We left camp at 615 and walked the 8 miles to the road into town by 9.

We got a ride into Big Bear City pretty quickly, and were dropped off right at a nice breakfast place called Thelmas. We both had a huge breakfast, mine is pictured above. We then took the bus to Big Bear Lake where we stopped at the library for a bit to use the internet and continued on to resupply at a supermarket and then ate a late lunch.

I had to get some new insoles in town today. The shoes I started with were already a bit worn and my feet were killing me because I had no cushion left, I also developed a blister this morning on the bottom of my foot, which makes putting weight on my left foot a little painful. Carly's had a couple small blister forthe past few days which are slowly starting to heal up.

We got a ride out of town with a woman who was super excited to meet us, she wasn't even headed past the trail but took us there any way. She loves backpacking and had a lot of questions for us, she was an awesome person to get a ride with.

We continued on 2.5 more miles up the trail to a little camp with a picknick table where 3 other PCT hikers are staying. One of them just graduated from another school with a degreein renewable energy, so it was fun talking to him and hearing about what his program was like.
