Day 20 6/4 20mi.

I was walking down the trail in the morning and all of a sudden I heard a loud rattle right in front of me! The snake was kind of around a corner and in the shade of a bush. It was only about 5 ft. In front of me and coiled up right away in case it needed to strike. I don't know if people that grow up in rattle snake country getvmore used to the rattle, but it still scares the bajebas out of me when I hear one close by. I waited for carly and we walked well around it, it was sitting right on the trail.

Later on in the day carly and I stopped for lunch, the whole first half of our lunch we saw a helicopter flying back and forth in the area. As we were packing up and ilder lady and two fire rescue workers walked by. One of the rescue workers stopped to talk to us, we found out that the woman was suffering from heat exhaustion and the three guys we stayed with 2 nights ago stumbled upon her on the trail and ran back to where there were some people working on a small bridge the trail crosses. Luckily she seemed ok she was walking out, bt the helicopter we saw during lunch was for her.

After hiking another 6 miles or so we came to some hotsprings near a creek!! I soaked in the hot springs and swam in the creek for awhile which felt awesome, while carly sat in the shade.

The area after the hotsprings, maybe 4 miles, and out of the canyon we were in was littered with thrash and graffiti which was disappointing to see.
