Day 28 6/12 11mi.
I slept on the couch of the mobile home and Carly got her own bed. We slept in until about 7, then headed to town on the bikes, I grabbed one with a big basket on the back. We had a huge delicious breakfast at the cafe in town and then went across the street and resupplied at the towns grocery store. I threw the groceries in the basket of my bike and we pedaled back to the trail angels place.
It seems as though there are as many horses in the town as people. Each home is on a couple acre lot and at nearly ever home we could see horses. The main street is set up so a horse could ride along it and there is a place to tie your horse up near the grocery store. The place we were staying at had two horses. The towns name is Agua Dulce.
Back at the trail angels place we did a few town chores, made a few phone calls, and relaxed until the day cooled down.
The place we were staying at is referred as "hiker heaven" and it was true to it's name. They had everything a hiker could ask for.
We got a ride back into town around 5 and got a snack from the grocery stores deli and headed back into the desert after a 2 mile road walk. We walked about 11 miles, which was basically one long uphill and a couple mile downhill. We got to camp at about 10:45, our latest night of hiking so far.

Agua dulce means sweet water. Hope you are staying well hydrated!
ReplyDeleteI feel so appreciative that all of these trail angels are looking out for my siblings!
