Day 23 6/7 14mi.
Today was a town day Wrightwood, CA.
As we were eating breakfast an old military looking plane flew right over us, it seemed like not more than 100 feet above the trees! We got to hiking as quickly as we could since there was about 6 more miles of uphill to start the day. After the uphill hill it was fairly easy walking the next 7 miles to the road. We walked along side a ski hill for most of those miles.
When we finally made it to the road we waited 15 minutes before a single car came by, we thought we'd never get a ride! Luckily after a half an hour the third car we saw stopped to pick us up.
The first place we went in town, as usual, was a restaurant to stuff ourselves with pizza and a chicken sandwhich! Then we went to the public restrooms in a very small park and cleaned up ourselves a little and some of our gear. We went on to resupply at a local grocery store then went to a mexican restaurant and got some tacos and nachos to go for dinner.
We found a ride out of town pretty quick with a guy that lived in town but went out of his way to bring us the 5 miles up the mountain.
After hiking another miles we at our mexican food and set up for the night. After eating the three guys that had been hiking near us came along to stay at the same campground. They told us about how they met a guy who brought them back to his house and made food for them and let them shower at their house, which apparently had 3 nozzels in the shower. Then we told them how we were attempting to shower in the sink of the public restrooms, needless to say we were envious!
