Day 58 7/12 20mi.

The miles were hard to come by today. We started hiking at 7:30 this morning and didn't finish until 9 tonight. The trail went up over a chain of mountains and then down into a valley, then right back up over some mountains all day.

We did take a break next to a lake today where I dove in off a small rock and swam for a bit, I have yet to convince Chatterbox to go swimming though. It was nice to get cleaned up a bit and clean out some of our clothes.

We came upon two guys who were out doing a section of the trail. They said the elevations and their old age were getting the better of them and they haven't been doing the miles that they had planned to. So they gave us phone number and name and asked us to call the person who is supposed o be picking them up and tell her that they would be a day late and were gonna come out at an easier trailhead. So when we get into to a town the day after tomorrow we will make sure to relay the message for Ernie and Tim, hopefully they get out safe.

After walking through a cloud of mosquitoes for the last 3 miles of the day we found a good place to camp after it got to cold for the blood suckers.
