Day 57 7/11 18mi.

We set up our tents in the backcountry section of the campground last night for $5. At about 2:30 in the morning I woke up to two people setting there tent up about 20 ft. from mine, and then at about 6 in the morning the same two people woke me up as they were packing up and leaving. It was odd and rather annoying since there were many other flat spots farther away from any tents they could have set up.

Since we were already up from the people who wanted to camp right next to us for a few hours we packed up and went down to the store to wait for breakfast to be served at 8.

We goofed around on the picninc table outside the store until about 10:30 and then finally started hiking for the day.

We both stuffed ourselves so much at the store that it made walking very uncomfortable for the first two hours. We stopped and I went for a swim in the Tuolmne river, while we waited for our food to digest. (The picture above with all the water in it is where I went swimming)

The miles went by very quickly today and we made our first fire of the trip tonight!
